"I'm very determined to get good it ice skating." She nods. "I think i might spend this whole trip practicing. I'm not much of a skier..."

“Hey you’re so welcome. See if you can keep practicing, your tail seems a useful counter balance.”

”Oughh. Now that would be a stickier situation.” Lilith was raised in a theocracy. But had read up on the histories of many a corrupt king or elected official. “Cool! Thank you Alyx!” She smiles before pushing off on her skates again.

“Yeah.. heh, I mean imagine an actual politician…” Oh she has to kill Thaddeus Dashwood. “… but I think you’re okay, Corvid seems decent. And you’re a good judge of character I think. As well as a natural skater.”

”I would. At least, if I felt like I had a chance to prevent things from getting worse.” She shrugs “It’s just a student election, it’s not like who ever wins will hold the same kind of diplomatic power as an actual politician. I think if something were to go awry and enough students banded together to protest or complain about it, change could happen.”

She skids to a halt again, fiddling with her braid. “So… hypothetically, if you had made a terrible decision based on poor character judgement you’d do what you can to fix it. Of course you would.” Though it’s as if she’s seeing things for the first time. Her objective should have been clear from the moment she spoke to Aspen. She needs to take out Thaddeus Dashwood. “Obviously hypothetically.”

”I’m not sure if you attended the debate but the best policy that plant had was personally digesting zombies should there be an apocalypse…” She turns her skates to stop, kicking up some chips of ice as she does. “Woah where that question coming from?” She takes a moment to think about it. “I’d be disappointed for sure… it would depend of what would constitute as ‘piece of shit’, but if he got elected and then used his position as student body president for his own personal game after he explicitly campaigned on opposition to that, well then I’d definitely be decently miffed about it.” She thinks about it further… “And if he really did more harm than good for the student body I would petition for his removal… or find him and fight him. It would depend on how bad things are…. Hypothetically, of course.”

“What if the bizarre little plant is just misunderstood…” Or making terrible decisions based on dogshit information from a source that she should have known was unreliable. She thinks about Lady Dashwood. Shaking from her fear. She thought it was fear of Corvid but it was worse. She had been afraid of her husband. “Lilith if you voted for Corvid and he turned out to be a piece of shit what would you do?”

”He’s definitely charismatic, I’ll give him that…” In a weird way that Lilith didn’t understand the appeal of… but that wasn’t why she was voting for him. “Him and Nimue seem to have really similar policies though. I’m very interested to see how to vote swings. Either way I think we’re in good hands…. As along as that bizarre little plant doesn’t somehow win.” She cringes at the thought.

“Yeah… yeah we should. He seems…” she turns again. “He seems like a decent guy actually.” And she was convinced he was a slimey abusive piece of shit… what does that make her? A terrible person and a shit judge of character apparently.

”That should be next on the list! A pool. Haven’t seen one of those either.” She points at Alyx as if a light bulb just appeared over her head. “We should write him a strongly worded letter asking him to get this stuff for us!” She laughs, because that’s definitely not how politics works.

The mention of the name shocks her. It shouldn’t - she researched him, knew he had friends here and a reputation. “Uh… yeah maybe. Just don’t get it confused with the de icer or you’ll be swimming instead.”

”Yeah! That’s a great idea“ Lilith smiles as she continues her laps “I’m gonna vote for Corvid. He said if he’s elected he’ll ensure every student with a car on campus will get free de-icer in the winter…. Think he’d petition administration to build an ice arena?” She asks across the rink

“Yeah… it is weird they don’t have one.” She muses, turning to skate backwards in a circle. “Maybe we could ask whoever our next student president is to push for one.”

"Thanks!" Lilith throws up a proud fist after she lands her jump. "This is fun! I wish I could do this more often!" She grins as she flies around the rink with ease now... call it beginners luck. "Maybe they should build an ice arena at Strixhaven... I'll be honest, I'm a little surprised there isn't one already."

“Okay maybe you shouldn’t try to do tricks when y-“ Alyx pauses with an arm outstretched. She blinks in amazement. “… okay that was impressive, nice one Lilith.”

”Yeah, okay” She tries to put all of her attention towards focusing on the balance of her body, swaying her tail as she rounds the curves of the rink to offset the angle she’s leaning at. “I’m gonna try to do a trick!” In addition to the multitude of books she’d read on the subjects, she had also taken the time to study hours and hours of professional skaters… hockey games, figure skating competitions… sports analytics… [Acrobatics 15] Once she gains enough moment she attempts to do a little jump. Outstretching her arms and bending her knees before lifting her skates off the ice. To even her own surprise she’s able to do it successfully. “Woah! First try!”

“Try that for a while… use that tail of yours as a counterweight.” Holy shit her advice worked? Hey maybe she’s not so terrible. Something inside her warms a little. “Keep going you’ll get it, you’re doing great!”

[Dex 20] Lilith follows Alyx's advice and levels out her tail. She was right, balancing was much easier now. "Hey! That worked!" She feels significantly more confident in her ability to stay up and keep moving. She keeps putting one foot in front of the other and eventually she gets into a rhythm with each step.

She watches her for a moment. It’s hard not to feel for the girl, in her pro skater outfit trying her best. “Try and level your tail out behind you. It’ll help your centre of balance.” She slides to a halt with a little spray of ice crystals at her toes.

"Yep!" She gives a thumbs up "Nothing bruised but my ego..." She laughs awkwardly "... and maybe my tail a little." She cringes Lilith decides for now to just focus on skating in circles, even though she really wants to try and do a trick... how hard can it be?

Maybe everything she’s ever done has been a mistake. Maybe Corvid isn’t her first error of judgment. What if she’s killed innocent men… Her thoughts are snapped back to the present by the sound of a suffle on the ice. She turns to look. “… Lilith? Are you okay?”

Lilith watches as her roommate Alyx pushes off onto the ice. She makes it look so easy... Lilith hopes that reading all these books will make it easier for her to get the hang of things... [Acrobatics 8] Perhaps Lilith gets a little too cocky. She's very flexible and usually very balanced but just her luck as soon as she puts he first foot on the ice it slips out from under her and she falls. [Dex 15] Luckily she is able to recover pretty quickly and regain her confidence before pushes off from the wall and staying afloat... for now.

Maybe this will clear her head. Growing up in Luskan, her winters had included scraping her knees on hard ice often. She had been outside alone frequently, picking herself up, trying again every time she fell. It became medative. She laces her black boots over the top of her leggings and tightens the tie of her sweater around her waist. Then she’s off, out onto the ice. She pushes forwards, left foot, right foot… and then glides. Thoughtless. Head empty. If only.

Lilith has decided that this ski trip is the perfect opprotunity to teach herself how to ice skate, something she's always wanted to do. She sits on a bench at the edge of the rink lacing up her skates surrounded by at least two dozen books about skating: How to skate, basics, hockey, figure skating, speed skating, ice dancing, the history of skating... Clearly she wants to have all her bases covered.
